In this class, Keisha will take you from “idea“ to “a finished half hour scripted comedy pilot”. We will review basic story structure, give specific feedback, and talk industry goals in this class. You will walk away with the first draft of script and a basic pitch! With staffing season and pitch season around the corner, be ready this year with your materials.

About The Teacher

Andrew Kimler is a writer, producer, and comedian who is a 2020 Sundance Episodic Lab Fellow. He’s co-created shows for television, has written for animation, and has developed for MTV and Funny or Die. His work has been seen on Comedy Central, Fox, Vox, NowThis, Fast Company, BarkBox, Glamour Magazine and even a random Gold Bond commercial. In 2019 he went to Just For Laughs (Montreal) to pitch the half hour show Scoutmasters as well as Just For Laughs (Vancouver) to pitch the original film Cops & Robbers. Andrew studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, later receiving a Media BA from SUNY Empire.

Keisha Zollar is a comedian, showrunner, producer, writer, and Sundance Fellow. She’s currently a exec story editor on Young Love, the adaptation of the Oscar short Hair Love. Recently, she finished working on the reboot of Spitting Image for BritBox, the animated series Agent King on Netflix, and is the co-EP on the NBC special Sketchy Times with Lilly Singh. In addition, she’s one of the co-creators and stars of Astronomy Club: The Sketch Show. In 2019, she executive produced the popular podcast turned TV show, The Read With Kid Fury & Crissle on Fuse and became the head writer on Busy Tonight.
